This year, SunLink Corporation became one of the first solar mounting systems providers to conduct extensive seismic shake table testing of their products. R&C is working closely with SunLink on structural design for their roof mount solar systems and the development of seismic analysis models of solar arrays. The shake table tests help to validate and refine the seismic analysis and facilitate permitting of Sunlink’s ballasted systems in regions of high seismicity throughout North America. Ballasted systems are typically more economical for Sunlink’s clients to install and maintain than connected systems.
